Paco and John - Live at Montreux 1987

In the summer of 1987, two of the world’s most celebrated guitarists, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía, came together for an unforgettable performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland – a legendary gathering place for musicians from jazz, blues, R&B, soul, and pop.  First, they performed solo: John opened the evening with 'My Foolish Heart', followed by 'One Melody', while Paco began with 'El Pañuelo' – a performance that immediately made it clear why he was setting standards worldwide as a flamenco guitarist.  John and Paco then played the rest of the concert as a duo, presenting not only their own compositions, but also ‘Spain’ by Chick Corea and ‘Frevo Rasgado’ by Egberto Gismonti.  Paco and John – Live At Montreux 1987, now available again, presents this extraordinary concert as a timeless document of two guitar legends at the height of their creative powers.
