Papillon de Mer

PAPILLON DE MER ('Sea Butterfly') is jazz guitarist Jean-François Pauvros' and electro musician/composer Alain Mahe's latest collaboration. The music is inspired by the paintings of Belgian artist Vincent Fortemps, as well as their shared attraction to an imagined underwater world.

The album also pays homage to the legendary trombonist and singer Rico Rodriguez, who was a major influence on Jamaican ska. Pauvros had the privilege of playing and recording with Rodriguez.

Jean-François Pauvros contributes on guitar and vocals, while Alain Mahe showcases his talent on Kobol RSF modular synthesizer, tenor sax, and even stones. Rico Rodriguez is featured on trombone on tracks like "Disparition" and "Au bout des mondes."
