Passing Fires

On Passing Fires, drummer and composer Jeremy Cunningham expands on the world of The Weather Up There with a close-knit group of collaborators. Intimate piano sketches, family-room recordings, and richly layered studio performances come together as a thoughtful reflection on memory, love, and change.

It moves with real feeling, shifting between hypnotic grooves, psychedelic textures, and tender poetic ballads. There is a lovely balance here too: homemade warmth sits alongside sharp sonic detail, giving the record both closeness and depth without losing its sense of spontaneity.
