Portrait In Rhythm

In his debut album "Portrait in Rhythm," the drummer from Allgäu impressively demonstrates how profoundly music can be shaped by movement and order. Magnus Dauner is not only a trained jazz drummer but also a musical globetrotter. His passion for drumming led him to South India, where he studied the complex South Indian rhythms at the Karnataka College of Percussion. In Tanzania, he immersed himself in the traditional rhythms of East African Ngoma music at the Shine Africa Academy, and in Istanbul, he delved into Turkish and Arabic drumming traditions. These travels are the source of his inspiration, allowing him to weave various rhythmic influences into a harmonious whole, rather than merely stringing them together.
