Before moving to London with mutual friend Jack Daley - who now makes up the trio on bass - they were to meet a mystical man named Mohit, who forever changed the course of the band. The music sways between expansive elevated instrumental movements with intensity and drama -down to humble grooves, punchy choruses -back to broad droning segments. The attention to dynamics is clear from the get go of Racek; which builds up, swells into full sail and returns to calm after a stormy voyage, and indeed, by Discover Another; which blasts immediately into urgent, chaotic, yet controlled noise. Elements of the unexpected preclude more classic structural motifs; juxtapositions of these polar opposites intermingle to birth a haunted sound that is both inwardly personal, intimate, and outwardly challenging. Much of their music comes from improvising together, allowing a collective sub-consciousness to guide the writing process.Their music can be mystical at times, leading ones mind astray through strange places and shedding light on the darkness therein. The band is explorative andconceptual; as a result it bleeds across many styles, yet it is always distinctively their sound.
