Randy California and Spirit: The Euro-American Years

The Euro American Years is a 6 CD clamshell boxed set by Randy California and Spirit. The set includes studio and live recordings from 1979 to 1983 by the Randy California Band and additional live recordings by Spirit.

In 1979, the trio incarnation of Spirit disbanded, leading Randy to form a new solo band and go on a European tour with Ian Gillan. After recording demos, studio sessions produced recordings for his solo album Euro-American, released in 1982 and included in this set.

Originally compiled by Spirit archivist Mick Skidmore in 2006, the boxed set aimed to gather Randy's music from the 1979-1983 period, including previously unreleased tracks shelved due to a lack of a record deal.

Due to fan demand, Mick Skidmore unearthed two additional CDs of unreleased material, featuring a live Spirit concert in Greensboro, North Carolina in April 1981, The Randy California Band's set at Reading Festival in 1982, and part of their set at Glastonbury Festival the same year.

This new edition, mastered by Mick Skidmore, includes a booklet with an essay and photographs from the period, offering fans a comprehensive collection of Randy California and Spirit's work during this era.
