Revelations of Divine Love

Susanne Sundfor's Revelations of Divine Love grows from spiritual curiosity, creative kinship, and a fascination with the ancient and the transcendent. Made with British jazz pianist and organist Kit Downes, it was recorded at Bragernes Kirke in Norway in November 2024, giving the album its hushed, reverberant stillness.

Mixed and mastered by Jorgen Traeen, the record takes its title from Revelations of Divine Love, the 14th-century mystical text by Julian of Norwich, the first known book in English written by a woman.

Sundfor discovered Julian's writing while she and Downes were performing together in churches in 2024. Drawn to its hope, resilience, and quietly radical feminine perspective, she heard a natural continuation from her acclaimed 2023 album Blomi, and invited Downes in as a full collaborator.
