until now willie wright has been something of a enigma. the original 45 has remained insanely rare and the track has only been known to the wider audience through a certain bootleg lp. some thought he was from the caribbean and not from the us, simply because he was just nowhere to be found. but after years of super-sleuthing our one and only search-until-i-die people-digger malcolm catto finally found him alive and well, happy to hear that someone still knew about his 45. not only do we have a fantastic version of the curtis mayfield classic but on the flip we have dj-tib from italy doing a drum-heavy edit. awesome!
