Rumspringa is ear's follow-up to The Most Dear and The Future, one of 2025’s best debut projects. Building on those earlier releases, the indietronica duo of Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan sound sharper and more locked in here.

There’s a real ease to the way indie and twee melodies meet heavy bass drops and electronic breakbeats, with each side strengthening the other. It feels focused without losing its spark, and full of the kind of detail that keeps drawing you back.

Translating to “running around,” Rumspringa carries an instant nostalgia. Scattered vocal samples land like fragments of adolescence, turning the record into something vivid, restless and warmly familiar.
