Semiratruth is a Brooklyn-based, Chicago-born electronic artist always in motion, moving between underground scenes in the US, Guatemala, and The Netherlands with synths and sampler in hand. Their live sets feel instinctive and physical, conducting the room’s energy through a table of electronics and fast-shifting sound.

On S!M, released via Chicago’s Sooper Records, Semiratruth brings that momentum into a 20-track instrumental world. Acid, Juke, and Baile funk minimalism cuts through industrial textures, while melodic improvisations nod to 1970s Cosmic Synth and Spiritual Jazz.

There’s real range here. Atitlán, named after Guatemala’s great lake, is intimate and microtonal, built from slowly changing synth pads and machine-toned detail. Elsewhere, Blood Moon Eclipse and we gotta GO! hit with sub-heavy kickdrums and the pulse of city life, as multiple timelines unfold at once.
