Signal:Lost

Signal:Lost has evolved out of an unexpected period of productivity and invention in the Boa Morte world. The band built and equipped their own studio while simultaneously recording two very different albums for release six months apart. Signal:Lost is the first, with The Following On set for release in early 2027.

The process has seen the band develop into a tighter ensemble that nevertheless relishes a newfound freedom for improvisation and innovation. As always, the quality of the songwriting remains key; if Signal:Lost represents a wayward distress signal, it’s the band’s innate melodic compass that brings us firmly back on track.

The new studio provided space to write, experiment and create. Re-engaging with James Darkin, who previously produced the band’s third album Before There Was Air, they moved from lo-fi to hi-fi and back again, combining recordings from Irish studios with the original demos.
