the sonics' new record! features new songs and live favourites performed at the recent the sonics didn't know it, but they were ahead of their time. it was in tacoma, washington in1964 when they emerged from the garage with a shocking new sound at a time when rock and roll was ripe for experiment. although punk and garage were yet unknown, producer buck ormsby from etiquette records encouraged the sonics move away from cover songs to their own unique sound%u2026.a whole new animal with raw power and energy that electrified the room. fast forward to the 21st century, when finally in november 2007 the sonics accepted an invitation to perform in nyc. regrouped and well rehearsed, the sonics proceeded to bring down the house at cave stomp with their still fresh, raw, pounding music. the sonics are back, they're wild, unrelenting, and to international audiences, an unforgettable experience.
