One of the finest pianists of the hard bop era, Sonny Clark followed up his 1957 Blue Note debut Dial “S” for Sonny with the stellar sextet session Sonny’s Crib, a swinging set of standards and Clark originals featuring John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Donald Byrd on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Paul Chambers on bass, and Art Taylor on drums. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
