Stand Still Like The Hummingbird

To stand still in an ever-changing cultural landscape and an increasingly chaotic world is a theme that runs throughout Wings of Desire’s sophomore record - Stand Still Like The Hummingbird. A twelve-part project coinciding with the lunar calendar, the duo set out to release a track on every new moon of 2026, reconnecting with the rhythm of the earth and the natural cycles of time. Existing in the liminal space we find ourselves in, the album explores themes of neolithic ritual, folklore and ecstatic wonder.

In many ways it is a continuation of the duo’s previous record, Life Is Infinite (2023), which established their trademark sound: gritty dream-pop meets krautrock. Drawing on the chaos of the modern world and the challenge of staying sane in an increasingly accelerated culture, the record explores the natural rituals of daily life and the perpetual movement between periods of creation and destruction.

Everyday is a ritual, and every moment presents us with lore and wonder. For eyes that see, and ears that hear.
