Texas Moon (Deluxe Edition)

Recorded in 1973 for Plantation Records by outlaw country great David Allan Coe, Texas Moon wasn’t released until 1977. By then, Coe had already moved on to Columbia, leaving this album as a vivid snapshot of his early years and the sound of his road band in full flow.

Across the record, Coe leans into a set of evocative covers written by some of his key heroes, including Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Joe Shaver and Jackson Browne. It’s a revealing listen, full of the grit, feel and instinct that shaped his early work.

This new deluxe edition of Texas Moon also adds previously unreleased material from the same era, making it an essential deeper look at a formative chapter in David Allan Coe’s catalogue.
