One of the most important acts in mid-80s hip-hop, they were pioneers of drum machines, sample technology and the art of the remix. Their debut album featured their three early singles Fresh Is The Word, Needle To The Groove and Bassline which were all big hits in the New York clubs, whilst the latter was a Top 40 hit in the UK. This is raw hip-hop, and electronic music of the highest calibre.
