The Boy in the Debs Suit / I Claim to be Intelligent

Slyrydes are a 4-piece band from Galway City, Co Galway, Ireland. Under challenging circumstances, Slyrydes wrote and recorded their debut album What Happens If You Get Happy? in 2020. It was recorded and produced by Daniel Doherty in his Darklands Studios in Dublin (Fontaines D.C., Munky, Damien Dempsey, Vulpynes) and is due for release in 2022.

This is their first physical release and The Boy in the Debs Suit and I Claim to be Intelligent are the perfect calling cards. They are sparse with pounding drums, crunching guitar work and a vocalist who sounds like he's on the edge. The tracks are powerful and affecting that would sit next to Fontaines DC and Shame.
