The Long Walk

You might expect the score to The Long Walk to be tense and stressful, given its based on a short story by Stephen King and dystopian sci-fi setting. However, Jeremiah Fraites, the co-founder of the indie band The Lumineers, delivers a somber and assured score that contrasts with the devastating and horrific images on screen. Unlike traditional horror scores that rely on piercing strings and jump scares, Fraites’s score features truly emotional melodic set pieces that ground the film and provide humanity amidst the grim action (If you don’t fall in love with “Olsen” on your first listen, I’m not sure we can be friends). While rhythmic repetition drives the score, delicate soft melodies own it. It’s a lovely listen that stands on its own merits. We’re incredibly proud to be releasing one of 2025’s most underrated films. Jeremiah is a true talent, and we can’t wait to hear what he has in store next.
