The Stone Man

The Stone Man is the anticipated debut album from The Wran, a Waterford four-piece made up of brothers Tommy Dunford, Danny Dunford, Seán Dunford and Stephen Dunford. They’ve quickly earned a name for immersive live shows and a sound that feels grounded yet otherworldly.

On The Stone Man, traditional Irish folk songs meet punk and psychedelia, opening these songs out through atmosphere, rhythm and weight. It’s a record shaped by preservation and expansion, with the original compositions Dunford’s March and Fear Dearg sitting naturally alongside the older material.

As the band put it: “This album is built from the songs we grew up with and found over time. It’s deeply rooted in where we’re from, and it tells stories about people leaving home, the families they left behind, and the longing to return.”
