Dumbo Station are a nu-jazz ensemble from Rome, Italy, first picked up by Tuff Kong during a live jam with legendary MC Danno of historic Roman hip-hop group Colle Der Fomento. One listen to this stunning set was enough to spark a collaboration with Roman jazz imprint AlfaMusic.
Released on limited edition vinyl, their debut full-length Tirana Cafè moves across rich, shifting soundscapes over 11 tracks. The quartet are joined by Italian talents including vocalist Davide Shorty, plus sax from Maurizio Giammarco and flute from Elvio Ghigliordini.
Merging nu-jazz with soul, funk and modern production, Dumbo Station deliver a debut that feels open, inventive and beautifully played from start to finish.
