Transfixed On Dying Light

Blackened sludge metal band Fraught release their debut full-length album, Transfixed On Dying Light. The set opens with a monster, “The Hunt.” It crawls in slowly then rears up and bites your head off. “Crimson Trail” on the other hand hits the ground sprinting with a savage blast of high-speed rhythm. The vocals are growling hissing croaks, and the guitars play log splitting riffs. There is a quieter, darker lonely path that opens in the middle where you get the feeling all could be lost. Heading toward the end, the rage is on. “Indignities of Decay” sounds like a warning, a dire description of what awaits. The guitars are a sorrowful lament. “Increments of Humiliation” carries a groove and a hook, propelling you along before you realize where exactly you are headed.
