Craig Clouse aka Shit And Shine returns with a totally stunning album, coming hot on the heels of his amazing Powder Horn lp for Diagonal, Tropical twists some of it's themes in even more directions, ending up with possibly his most forward thinking and modern set of magic yet. Running in at just over 30 minutes (the classic album length) it chops and screws it's way from the dance floor to the slow jam in six easy steps. 'Be Careful' is an all drums blazing rush while 'Can't be Trusted' has a pure Drexciyan soul, leading to the Biggie click of 'Catapilllar'. That's just the A side. The KDJ bounce of 'Greenskul' kicks off side B (already a big tune with The Wire's Below The Radar) and then it's time to get smothered in gold with the smooth 'Welly Too Far Away' and the looped grooves of 'What's Wrong With Me'. This is amazing stuff. Really.
