Steeped in tradition and head bowed toward the future, the Soweto based group Urban Village create a unique melding of Zulu guitars, indie-folk, South African choirs and jazz and dazzle with an insane energy and charisma. Lead by singer Tubatsi Mpho Moloi and his spellbinding voice, Urban Village crafts songs with a wide range of colours – sometimes powerful, sometimes gentle, always airborne.
