Under Construction Forever

wakelee are a band built on specifics. Named after northeast New Jersey’s wakelee Field, where identical twins Alex Bulmer and David Bulmer grew up, the Brooklyn trio turn small details into something lasting on Under Construction Forever.

Alongside bassist Elliot Shiang, the band formed in 2019, worked through pandemic setbacks and DIY tours, and slowly sharpened their voice. Their self-titled 2023 debut set the groundwork, while 2024’s Criminal and the 2025 Doghouse EP pushed things into clearer focus.

Rather than chase complexity, wakelee lean into songs that feel immediate and lived-in, blending indie rock, emo and alternative with real patience and self-awareness. On Under Construction Forever, memories of oversized T-shirts, Crocs, brutal winters and missed rides give these songs their emotional weight.
