Up's The New Down

Pete Fij(alkowski) returns with his debut solo album, Up's The New Down, released 25th September on Tip Top Recordings. Across 10 songs, he swaps melancholy for melody, wit and fuzzed-up warmth, embracing electric guitars, programmed synths, pop instincts and a fresh sense of possibility.

Written after major personal change, the record quietly maps its own awakening. There is still the unmistakable voice and lyrical sharpness, but now the mood is broader and brighter, drawing on a record collection that stretches from The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Pixies to LCD Soundsystem, DIIV and Viagra Boys.

Best known from Adorable, Polak and his work with Terry Bickers, Pete Fij has long been one of indie’s great understated voices. New single Wake Up Honey lands 4th September.
