us techno star john tejada is the man behind fabric 44, the latest edition in the mix series from the esteemed london venue. the producer, who has amassed an output of over 11 albums since the beginning of the '90s, has brought together 20 selections of deep and melodic house and techno which includes a large number of cuts from his own palette imprint. 2008 mainstays such as pigon's 'kamm', the mysterious wax10001 and nekes 'cristal' are blended with the aforementioned palette material as well as a couple of classics thrown in for good measure. as tejada explains, "when i finally listened to the mix, i put a lot of attention to detail of the way the tracks came together in and out. i did edit the tracks quite a bit, but it's really subtle and it just helps with the flowing journey, to take it one step above of what you might hear when a dj plays out. i wanted the whole track selection to turn into one piece of music: a techno-classical piece that has movements and moods from start to finish, like conducting an electronic symphony."
