Brand Nubian

Hailing from New Rochelle, New York, Brand Nubian is a legendary hip hop group that was formed in 1989. The original members, Maxwell Dixon (aka Grand Puba), Derrick Murphy (aka Sadat X), Lorenzo DeChalus (aka Lord Jamar), and Alamo came together after Grand Puba's former group disbanded. Signing with Elektra, they released the groundbreaking album "One for All", which gained recognition for its sampling of Edie Brickell's 'What I Am' in the track 'Slow Down'.
