C.O.F.F.I.N (Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway) are a four-piece rock’n’roll band from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, fusing boogie, blues, proto-punk and early hardcore with guttural vocals, high-voltage guitars and razor-sharp rhythms.
Compared to Motörhead, Cosmic Psychos, Radio Birdman and Celibate Rifles, the band draws on Australia’s raw rock lineage while exploring themes of identity, community, environmentalism and injustice through a distinctly Northern Beaches lens.
Since forming in 2005, C.O.F.F.I.N have grown from teenage shows at Manly Youth Centre to major festival stages worldwide, building a fiercely loyal following through two decades of DIY touring. Their fifth album, 2023’s Australia Stops, earned an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album and a National Live Music Award.
In 2026, they return with sixth album Out In Oslo, released September 18 via King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s p(doom) records. Produced by Declan Mehrtens (Amyl and The Sniffers), the record pairs C.O.F.F.I.N’s trademark energy with their most ambitious studio production yet.
The album arrives alongside feature documentary 10,000 Miles From Oslo, charting the band’s journey from childhood friends on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to touring the world. Featuring archival footage, interviews and live performances, the film explores the friendship, persistence and DIY spirit behind the band, following sold-out screenings across Australia, Europe, the UK and USA.
Having shared stages with Amyl and The Sniffers, Viagra Boys and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, C.O.F.F.I.N have established themselves as one of Australia’s most distinctive and respected contemporary rock’n’roll bands.
