Collection: Isaac Hayes

Isaac Hayes helped define the Memphis sound as a singer, keyboardist, songwriter and producer at Stax. Born in Covington, Tennessee, he broke through as a solo artist with Hot Buttered Soul and the 1971 Shaft soundtrack, bringing orchestral soul, funk and R&B into bold new shape. He later voiced Chef in South Park.
