Collection: Lovely Music

Lovely Music is an early label for experimental and electronic music, founded by Mimi Johnson. Officially created on June 28, 1977 as a limited company in New York, the label quickly became known for its groundbreaking releases in the genre. With a focus on pushing boundaries and exploring new sonic territories, Lovely Music has been at the forefront of the experimental music scene for over four decades.

Under Mimi Johnson's guidance, Lovely Music has nurtured and released works from some of the most influential artists in the field. From *Robert Ashley*'s avant-garde operas to *David Behrman*'s innovative electronic compositions, the label has consistently championed artists who push the boundaries of what is considered traditional music.

In April 1981, Lovely Music underwent a legal name change to become [l102005]. This change reflected not only a shift in direction but also marked a new chapter for the label. Despite this rebranding, [l102005] continued to release groundbreaking music that challenged conventions and pushed artistic boundaries.
