Real World

Real World is the British record label founded by Peter Gabriel in 1989, shaped by the same outward-looking spirit that runs through WOMAD and Gabriel’s own work. Its catalogue brings together artists from different musical traditions without flattening their differences, giving proper room to qawwali, contemporary folk, experimental pop and cross-cultural collaboration.

That range comes through in releases by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Sheila Chandra, The Gloaming, Hannah Peel and Bab L' Bluz, alongside key recordings from Gabriel himself. More than a house style, Real World has a clear sensibility: curious, carefully presented and interested in what happens when musicians meet on equal terms.
