The Smiths

The Smiths formed in Manchester in 1982: Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce. In five years they made four studio albums, including The Queen Is Dead and Meat Is Murder, and became a defining group in 1980s British independent music before splitting in 1987.
