While the album title is genuinely apt; I kind think it’s touch misleading too; as while New Yorker Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88 band do play in the style of Fats Domino on this scintillating ‘live set’, there’s also one helluva lot more to this band than just that being any type of covers band.
In fact what these Hep-cats remind me of more than anything else is
the legendary Louis Jordan who begat the wonderful Jumpin’ Jive album that Joe Jackson recorded donkeys years ago.
