Ella and the Bossa Beat is the artistic union between Magrus Borges (drums and percussion) and Ella Blu (vocals, piano, and keyboards): — father and daughter connected by a profound musical chemistry and a shared vision on Brazilian music. Magrus Borges’ career includes a Grammy nomination and collaborations with Astrud and Bebel Gilberto, Grace Jones, Shakira, Caetano Veloso, and Johnny Alf while Ella Blu is establishing herself as a new voice in contemporary jazz.

Amare, the duo’s most ambitious work to date, features ten original compositions and sees Brazilian singer-songwriter Toco as a main special guest, together with Robson Barros on bass and Gianluca Petrella on trombone, joined by André Lafaete on semi-acoustic guitar, Jonathan Dills on cello, Francesco Borrelli on electric guitar, and Luciano Cantone on vibraphone. Recorded between Orlando, Florida, and Milan, Italy, the album captures the spirit of artistic collaboration across continents.
