Another World

Artificial Island are London duo Gareth Williams and Ian Prytherch, and their debut album Another World gathers four years of carefully shaped electronic music into a focused, atmospheric set. Drawing on ambient, downtempo and melodic electronica, it moves with patience, depth and real clarity.

Pulsing rhythms, spacious synths, subtle vocal textures and deep bass give the record its unhurried momentum. It also brings together the duo’s best-known tracks, including Emerge, alongside three new pieces: Spirit, A Different Sun and Departure.

Mastered by Guy Davie, known for work with Jon Hopkins, Marconi Union and Four Tet, Another World is finished with artwork by acclaimed designer Chris Bigg of 4AD fame. A thoughtful, melodic and immersive introduction to a duo steadily carving out their own sound.
