"Auswärtsspiel" 2002 – 2027: Die 25 Jahre-Jubiläumsedition

It’s hard to believe that *Auswärtsspiel* hasn’t been released on vinyl as standard until now! Only a
vinyl box set from 2010, limited to 1,000 copies and long since out of print, previously included the record. When the album came out in 2002, the CD boom was at its peak and vinyl played virtually no role at all in the music market. Fortunately, that has now changed completely! That’s why, to mark its 25th anniversary, “Auswärtsspiel” is finally being released in an elaborately designed, limited and numbered anniversary edition of 7,000 copies. The high-quality hardcover gatefold deluxe book contains the album on 180g vinyl and CD, as well as an additional bonus CD featuring a total of 20 songs, including the original B-sides, rarities and previously unreleased demo recordings from the time the album was made. Among other things, this allows listeners to hear how ‘Du lebst nur einmal’ originally sounded as ‘Wenn man mal fragen darf’ and which lines of lyrics from the early versions of ‘Auswärtsspiel’ didn’t make it onto the finished record. The release also includes an elaborately designed, 32-page booklet featuring numerous photos and an extensive exclusive interview in which Die Toten Hosen expert Kolja Podkowik has coaxed the band into revealing many previously unknown details and stories from the period surrounding the album’s creation. In the course of this, memories and anecdotes were also shared, some of which had long since been forgotten even by the band members themselves
