Ballade D'Allan Seeger (Chansons Sur La Grande Guerre)

A work that marries American folk and country elements with French chanson in the Hamon style, this EP draws its inspiration from a memoire the singer-songwriter's great grandfather left behind, telling of his time during WW1. The EP is a collaboration with several Parisian musicians and Midnight Special Records recorded just before the 100th anniversary of the first World War, creating a timeless piece of sonic historical fiction that stitches war-ridden soldier-sorrow with grab-a-partner melodies that get you on your feet and dancing to the tune.
