another addition to the occasional releases that bill curtis, drummer and mastermind of the fatback band creates. this one he reworks some tapes from his vaults with the assistance of some choice friends with great effect. it's a mix of soul funk with hip hop jazz and features some of his friends from back in the day including robert damper, warren daniels, willie bridges, david 'bubba' brooks and gerry thomas. a milestone in the history of soul and funk, (the) fatback (band) has almost its entire recorded output available on southbound records, including the mighty 'hustle!' the ultimate fatback.
