Bon Scott Sessions 1971-1972

Before the Highway To Hell era, late AC/DC singer Bon Scott fronted Australia’s own Fraternity, a Sydney rock band formed in 1970. This gatefold double LP gathers the complete recordings of a remarkable group in one place.

The band grew from four members of Levi Smith's Clefs: John Bisset on keyboards, Tony Buettel on drums, Bruce Howe on bass and vocals, and Mick Jurd on lead guitar. After conflict with singer Barry McAskill, they moved to Adelaide in 1971 and restarted as Fraternity on Sweet Peach.

Their debut paired a cover of The Moody Blues’ Question with the Why Did It Have To Be Me? song by Ashdown/Stewart. Still searching for a true frontman, they turned to Bon Scott, then singing with The Valentines. Drawn to his raw energy, they persuaded him to relocate and join as lead singer.
