Six-track EP, which includes two killer original tracks produced by Tom Excell (Nubyan Twist, Onipa, K.O.G), plus four unique remixes from top French production talent.
First up on remix duties is purveyor of analogue synths, fine food, and living 'la belle vie', Fulgeance. Having released on Ed Banger, RXTX and fronting the sample heavy, beat ipping live act, Souleance. This unique composition leaves no one guessing who's at the controls. A warm grower that breathes and meanders, his trademark synth sonics bringing out the Balearic airs of the original.
A more club focused affair comes in from Lisbon based French key shark, Paul Cut. The D.KO Records boss showcases a sparse yet shu ing US house groove. Something that could punch its way into any late- night New York or Chicago establishment. Percussive, vocal grooves open out into a glorious Rhodes solo, spanning this six-minute roller.
Over on side two Flabaire serves up an even darker and more edgy piece, this one is aimed squarely for the peak time dancing, with synth arpeggios, dubs and delays ring off to all corners of the room. David's guitar work is highlighted then the track opens out with the syncopated synths driving towards a deep and euphoric climax.
Pensive and meditative is the feel of the set closer. Prophetic Soul's mix has percussion as the focus. It shakes along with a warm air and gloss, David's vocals and Patchworks' horns are brought to the fore, whilst the other instruments wind together for a looser, more playful groove that nish off the set beautifully.
