Sixto Rodriguez’s 1970 debut Cold Fact disappeared on release, then slowly became one of modern music’s great rediscoveries. Built on melodic psychedelic folk, sharp social commentary, and Rodriguez’s magnetic voice, it later found devoted audiences in Australia and South Africa before finally earning major acclaim in the US.

This edition is mastered at Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in California, limited to 4,000 numbered copies, pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing, and housed in a Stoughton gatefold jacket. The 180g 45RPM 2LP presentation brings superb separation, controlled bass, quiet surfaces, and clarity to Dennis Coffey’s detailed production.

Tracks including Sugar Man, Only Good for Conversation, Inner City Blues, Rich Folks Hoax, Crucify Your Mind, This Is Not a Song, It’s an Outburst; Or, the Establishment Blues, and I Wonder hit with real presence. Recorded with Mike Theodore, Bob Babbitt, Andrew Smith, the Detroit Symphony, and horns, the album later inspired Searching for Sugar Man.
