Décima Víctima were a Spanish band active from 1981 to 1984, crafting a stark, deeply personal sound that nodded to Joy Division, The Cure and British post-punk, while feeling entirely their own. Commercial success may have passed them by, but their quality, consistency and lasting influence remain unmistakable.
The band began in 1981, with Carlos Entrena rehearsing with Lars Mertanen and Per Mertanen in the cellar of the Mertanens’ house in Madrid, alongside a drum machine. After a 4-track demo and the launch of Grabaciones Accidentales (GASA) with Esclarecidos, they released their first single in 1982.
This 3CD and 2MC set gathers Décima Víctima’s complete recordings from 1982 to 1984, reissued for the first time on CD and cassette: the LPs Décima Víctima, Un Hombre Solo and En el Garaje, early EPs, the Un lugar en el pasado 12-inch and demos. Jose Brena later joined on drums. Includes artwork by the band and a 12-page booklet with notes and photos.
