From the early days of the Black Ark studio comes a crucial mid-70s cut from The Versatiles, with Junior Byles in the ranks. They take on Peter Tosh's Stepping Razor here, recorded around 1974 and full of that raw, deep energy that made these sessions so special.

On the flip, you get Black Belt Jones by Lee Perry and The Upsetters, a heavyweight pairing that says plenty on its own. A brilliant snapshot of the Black Ark in its formative years, and a lovely piece of reggae history to have in the racks.
