Junk Drawer, a Belfast psychedelic art-rock quartet, has released their new album Days of Heaven via Pizza Pizza Records (Just Mustard, The Altered Hours, Elaine Malone). The band recorded the album with Chris W Ryan (Robocobra Quartet, Just Mustard, New Dad) in rural Co. Wicklow, drawing inspiration from the likes of Gram Parsons, The Byrds, and Grateful Dead to create a work of weird, cosmic Ulster music.

Sonically, Junk Drawer's influences range from sixties West Coast LA to the otherworldly sounds of Zappa and Beefheart, with specific weirdo/post-punk influences from Fat White Family, Wire, and more. The album's track-listing is a mix of short, bright 'pop' songs on side-A and heavier, longer jams on side-B, showcasing the band's versatility and agility in traversing genres.

Days of Heaven marks a clear progression for Junk Drawer, with tighter riffs on tracks like "Pell Mell" and "Nids Niteca," lush Casiotone-infused melancholy on "Where Goes The Time," and a nod to Ulster sport in "Black Ball 85." However, beneath the surface lies the real magic of the band, making this album a true trick shot for Junk Drawer.
