De-Phazz In a Rudie Mood

In a Rudie Mood is another sharp turn in the ever-curious world of the De-Phazz family, moving through swing jazz, rock'n'roll and rude German sampling on reggae rhythms with a touch of ska.

Co-producer and drummer Oli Rubow leads the session alongside Eben Jones and Emily Zils (Eez), opening space for the next generation. Jona Heckmann and Alex Weis add extra flavour, while Sandie Wollasch, Ulf Kleiner, Marcus Bartelt and Bernd Windisch deliver a session cover that works as both ballad and reggae.

Old friends return too: Andrew Murphy brings that long-running dub reggae thread, while Joo Kraus and Oliver Leicht underline the De-Phazz mantra of bringing together what doesn't necessarily belong together. Caribbean rhythms meet Western beats here, mixed up and moving freely across borders.
