Dem Ones

From the streets of Deptford, South East London, emerge one of the most exciting Jazz duos in the history of British Jazz. Edgy and viscerally urban, their breathtaking sound has its roots firmly in late period Coltrane, from which they have created a debut release that is already being purred over as Jazz album of 2015.

The sessions took place at Mark Ronson's Zelig Studios and were recorded direct to Gearbox's vintage Studer 1/4" tape machine next door. Cut straight to a vintage 1960s valve mastering lathe, the all-analogue path gives the recording a timeless quality which complements the brilliance of the young duo's performance majestically.
