Derik and the Disasters

Derik & The Disasters brings together Charlie Harper of UK Subs and Del Greening of Peter and the Test Tube Babies for a brilliantly loose, sharp-edged punk record rooted in Brighton and built on instinct, noise and chemistry.

Joined by Vicky Smith of the Ramonas on bass and Marley Perez, Charlie’s grandson, on drums, they began recording in October 2025 with no rehearsals and only rough ideas. First session cuts included Deadlines, Divide, Cyber War and Lost.

Sessions later moved to engineer Ali Gavin’s studio in Aulburn Village, Mid Sussex, where more songs took shape, including Scars and The Disasters. The result is 14 songs that draw on both writers’ histories while landing somewhere fresh: punk rock for 2026, loud and alive.
