Trapeze released their first three albums between 1970-72 on the Threshold label. These albums showcase the band's evolution, from their psychedelic rock roots to their signature blues and soul-infused hard rock sound.
The band, consisting of members such as Glenn Hughes and Mel Galley, found their definitive sound on their second album, Medusa, as a power trio. The third album, You Are The Music - We’re Just The Band, featured notable guests such as B. J. Cole and Rod Argent.
Trapeze's success in the States is highlighted by a previously unreleased live recording from Dallas in 1973. This recording captures the band at the peak of their powers.
Glenn Hughes would eventually leave Trapeze to join Deep Purple, while the band continued to tour and record throughout the 1970s. Their 1992 performance at London's Borderline, included on CD 6 as Welcome To The Real World, showcases the band's enduring appeal and energy.
Despite their eventual disbandment, the members of Trapeze went on to have successful careers in music. Glenn Hughes in particular, formed various bands and collaborations, solidifying his status as a rock legend in his own right.
