Mercury Studios is proud to announce the physical release of the acclaimed film about the late Ronnie James Dio, Dio: Dreamers Never Die.
The film traces Ronnie James Dio’s career from a child growing up in upstate New York, singing in a doo-wop group, becoming the lead singer of Elf, Rainbow and Black Sabbath (replacing Ozzy Osbourne). We then get a look into his forming the Dio band, and ultimately teaming back up with the Heaven and Hell-era Black Sabbath prior to his death from cancer in May of 2010.
The first documentary to be authorised by the artist’s estate, the film incorporates never-before-seen footage and personal photos from Dio’s archives as well as offering intimate scenes with his closest peers, family, and friends, including Wendy Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, Vinny Appice, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach, Eddie Trunk and Jack Black, as they bring viewers inside the life of one of rock and roll’s true heroes.
In addition to the feature-length film, this release also includes a 20 minute selection of deleted and extended scenes from the cutting room floor, creating an experience that fans won’t forget.
