The Dogs D'Amour released an 8CD complete collection of recordings on China Records. The collection features what is considered the classic line-up of the band: Jo 'Dog' Almeida on guitar, Steve James on bass, Bam on drums, and fronted by songwriter and singer, the inimitable Tyla.
The collection includes the genre-defining 1988 debut album, In The Dynamite Jet Saloon, which had three successful singles: "The Kid from Kensington," "I Don't Want You to Go," and "How Come It Never Rains." However, the band originally formed in 1983 and had recorded two previous debut albums before this.
The collection starts with the (Un)Authorised Bootleg Album, originally intended for Japan. It then moves on to In The Dynamite Jet Saloon, followed by Errol Flynn and A Graveyard Of Empty Bottles Vol. 1, which reached the UK Top 20 with its acoustic songs. In 1990, the band released ...Straight??!! before splitting up on stage in Los Angeles in 1991. They regrouped for ...More Unchartered Heights Of Disgrace in 1993.
The collection is completed with two discs of rarities, live tracks, and B-sides with Singles, B-Sides and Rarities and Even More Singles, B-Sides and Rarities, making it the most comprehensive collection of the band's recordings for China Records.
